Team Member

When you walk into The Sewing Studio you will notice that you are surrounded by Sewing Studio Team Members that are passionate about the sewing industry.  We are continually trying to provide and enable the best sewing experience possible for our customers.  Customers love to visit our store because we offer a unique experience by sharing advice, showing techniques and inspiring creativity.  Our Team Members go the extra mile to ensure each customer walks out with the products and knowledge to complete whatever sewing project they are embarking on.  As a team member you would join our team of "sewing obsessed" employees in sharing your special skill sets with our customers.

We are currently seeking Part Time & Full Time Team Members to work Weekdays, Nights, and Weekends.

Scope:

  • Greet, Interact, and ask sewing related questions to customers to help them complete sewing related projects.
  • Show customers product locations.
  • Cut and Measure fabric for customers.
  • Process customer transactions on our POS system in a fast, friendly and efficient manor.
  • Complete other duties assigned by store manager.
  • Be able to have a flexible schedule that may involve nights, weekends and holidays.
  • Be able to lift and carry bolts of fabric and sewing machines. 

 

Experience:

  • Must have basic sewing skills and fabric knowledge
  • Must have basic computers skills including Windows based applications.  Must be willing to learn our POS system.

Inventory Specialist
Opening At: Maitland

The Sewing Studio Fabric Superstore carries tens of thousands of different products at any given time!  Our inventory is continually changing and updating.  This means that our customers can expect new and exciting products every time they come through the door.  We also believe that our store has a creative and welcoming appearance.  Our product displays play a large role in the appearance of our store and the inventory specialist must ensure that not only are our shelves stocked with the products our customers need and crave but that they look appealing and welcoming.

We are currently seeking a Full Time Inventory Specialist.

Scope:

  • Order, receive and adjust products in a POS and Inventory Management system.
  • Keep up the appearance of product displays
  • Manage (order and receive) special orders placed by customers.
  • Update and upload Microsoft excel spreadsheets.
  • Complete other duties assigned by store manager.
  • Be able to have a flexible schedule that may involve nights, weekends and holidays.
  • Be able to lift and carry bolts of fabric, rolls of fabric and sewing machines. 

 

Experience:

  • Must have basic computers skills including Windows based applications.  Must be willing to learn our POS system.
  • An interest in new and exciting sewing industry products is a plus

Assistant Front Floor Manager
Opening At: Maitland

Our front counter is a place of consistent energy and excitement.  The Sewing Studio is looking for an assistant front floor manager that is responsible for the successful operation of all transactions at our front counter.  We are in the customer service business and we just happen to provide a wealth of knowledge for people who are interested in anything sewing and fabric related.  It is important for our front floor manager to be able to answer a wide variety of sewing questions as well as process sales in a friendly and efficient manor.

We are currently seeking a Full Time Assistant Front Floor Manager.

Scope:

  • Oversee and process transactions at our front counter.
  • Keep the front of the store looking creative, new and professional.
  • Ensure that customers are greeted as they come through the door and are satisfied with their experience when they leave.
  • Oversee, process and correct POS transactions.
  • Complete other duties assigned by store manager.
  • Be able to have a flexible schedule that may involve nights, weekends and holidays.
  • Be able to lift and carry bolts of fabric, rolls of fabric and sewing machines. 

 

Experience:

  • Must have good computers skills including Windows based applications.  Must have some POS experience..
  • Must have some basic sewing and fabric knowledge.
  • Sewing machine and embroidery knowledge is a plus.

Machine Department Sales Manager
Opening At: Maitland

If you sew, you most likely own a sewing machine. Sewing machines, embroidery machines and sergers continue to advance at an extremely exciting rate (what a time to be alive!)! The impossible is now possible with todays latest and greatest machines.  The Sewing Studio carries three full lines of machines and we stand behind and support each one of them.  We believe in finding the right machine for each customer and then teaching them how to use it.  Our machine department manager needs to oversee this department and make sure that each machine customer is having a unique and enjoyable experience when purchasing from us.  

We are currently seeking a Full Time Machine Sales Department Manager.

Scope:

  • Oversee machine department sales and salespersons.
  • Oversee the look, feel and organization of the machine department.  
  • Ensure each customer has an enjoyable experience and is shown the machine that most suites their sewing, embroidery, serging or quilting needs.
  • Run sales reports and data analysis pertaining to the machine sales.
  • Complete other duties assigned by store manager.
  • Manage machine sales and inventory in our POS and inventory software.
  • Troubleshoot machine problems and diagnose them.
  • Help in employee scheduling.
  • Be able to have a flexible schedule that may involve nights, weekends and holidays.
  • Be able to lift and carry sewing machines. 

 

Experience:

  • Must have good computers skills including Windows based applications.  Must have some POS experience.
  • Must have 2-5 years of sales experience.
  • Must have some basic sewing machine knowledge.
